Further Information

Hello.

My name is Malte. I create websites, design interfaces and write code. I like typography, hysterical music and radical constructivism. I'm also a firm believer in postmodernism and minimalistic approaches. I live in Hamburg, Germany.

This is my stream of consciousness. I use Tumblr to collect and sample visual and textual scraps of digital information that seem relevant to me. It's subjective, contingent and complex.

You can catch me at Twitter or check out my taste in music at last.fm. You can find my personal website at electricgecko.de.

translations 03 is a conference on authorship in design, initiated by the Gutenberg-Intermedia course at FH Mainz. The CI is breathtakingly beautiful, including logotype and the poster pictured to the left.
But the true gem is their website. From my perspective, thei’re doing everything right in terms of contemporary web design. High quality look, clean typography and a lot of layout tension. Love it.

Paul Guinan is a very talented graphic designer from London with an array of great work to show. His simple, type-centric style hits my spot completely — check out the font and colour choices on his business cards. He’s currently interning at Wallpaper Magazine. We will hear from him in the future.

Snasen do great visual work, strong and calm at the same time. Their portfolio ranges from type-centric editorial work, such as this lookbook for norwegian fashion brand FIN, to the more illustrative pieces for Oslo Fashion Week. I like them all.

Wu-Tang Clan covers, recreated as Blue Note record sleeves. I can’t tell you how awesome this is.
