Our middle Name Jonathan Hoefler of Hoefler & Frere-Jones on the history and development of the ampersand. The ampersand is one of my favourite typographic symbols (trailing only curly brackets), and the Georgia one in this paragraph just doesn’t do it for me. &! Ah, that’s better.
